Willson777 3 Report post Posted October 13, 2018 HI everyone. Got my car booked in at Tuning Developments later this month for the NA package plus a few extras. I'm getting yellow stuff pads and also having my discs replaced as both were flagged up at MOT. Question is, do I still need to 'bed' the pads as the pads and discs are being changed at the same time? I've read that the purpose of bedding new pads is to get them seated properly on discs which already have imperfections etc but if they are changed at the same time is this still important? Thanks 1 Angelina reacted to this
KevinA 695 Report post Posted October 13, 2018 TBH with those pads normal driving will be sufficient, enjoy the drive home 2 Willson777 and surrey86 reacted to this
Lauren 2259 Report post Posted October 13, 2018 Some pads need heat cycling to bed them in. Should be instructions with them if they do. 1 Willson777 reacted to this
Kaltorak 111 Report post Posted October 13, 2018 Yellow stuff ask for a heat cycle after ~200 miles. Series of 60 to 10 mph breaks followed by a cool down period. 1 Willson777 reacted to this

Glen@waxandshine 9 Report post Posted October 13, 2018 I usually do 3 or 4 70-40 sharp brakes then leave a minute or two then do 3 or 4 70-20 hard brakes. Works fine to bed in pads and cleans disc surface. Its more for track orientation pads/discs though 1 Willson777 reacted to this
