Hello fellow 86’ers.

Just picked up my 2013 grey GT86 with lovely embossed and embroidered leather. I’ve liked these for a while and love what the car is about, a homage to the AE86. I’ve come straight from a Clio 200 to this but in a distant past owned 4 x Celica GT4’s and an MR2 Turbo.

Mike from TD is a friend of mine from my GT4OC days and he took me out in their GT this week and I was hooked. After living with the car for 48 hours, I realised it was to use to drive a 20 mile each way commute every day plus using it for visiting customers in the day job so I’ve just been and bought a little Aygo as the daily so the 86 can be kept lovely.

Its nice to be back into a sports Toyota again and I hope to be active on a nice owners club again.

Any plans to let Mike work his magic? NA tune and manifold upgrade is a no-brainer imo...

Mike will be working his magic on mine in a few weeks . Looking forwards to my drive back to London.

Thanks. If you saw some of the properties At times, you wouldn’t. 😂

The miles would rack up far too quickly.

I am very tempted with the turbo kit but it will be in twelve months as my insurer isn’t modification friendly but I did get a very reasonable quote from a specialist so perhaps in 12 months. It’s not as slow as I expected from the reviews to be honest and not miles behind the Clio. The Clio did handle VERY well though so learning RWD will take some.

Welcome aboard. I drove mine as  daily every day for the last five and a half years, often on a longer commute than you do. I'm a social worker so would spend my time on some of the less affluent estates, driving around for work. It was fine. I couldn't bare the thought of having to suffer an Aygo. Don't worry about mileage, currently on 120K after that time!

Cars are for driving I say. Life it too short to drive a boring car. ;)

Mikes a good guy, as is Nick. They’ll look after you there.

Oh it will definitely get driven, but happy to put the hard miles on the Aygo. I hate these people who have classic cars and hide them away and not drive them (not that this is one of those).

Plus it will save me some petrol money! 😂

Welcome!  I drive mine daily on a 60 mile commute and I far prefer that to having a runabout.  One of life's little pleasures is getting into the BRZ at the end of a hard day at work, knowing I can enjoy 30 therapeutic miles driving home.

75 mile a day here. Mileage doesn't seem to hurt these cars too bad. Just the bloody spark plug change which hurts :D

Haha maybe I should have posted here before buying the Aygo! Ha. Oh well. Will make me appreciate driving the 86 more I guess. 😃
