lewism1 8 Report post Posted September 20, 2018 Hey, I've started to notice a burning smell after I've been driving for a while. Smells a little bit like clutch and burning rubber. My clutch is new and has done about 2k miles of mostly sensible driving. I spent most of today sat in traffic in the rain and could still smell it, so that doesn't suggest tyres to me. any ideas? KevinA 695 Report post Posted September 20, 2018 Could be leaking cam plate, very small drops of oil drop onto the exhaust. Worth a look.
nerdstrike 186 Report post Posted September 20, 2018 It wouldn't be the first time I'd heard of someone getting a new clutch fitted and it wasn't properly adjusted. I'm not sure how you'd diagnose that, especially since clutches can get cooked in heavy traffic.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking it is! 7 minutes ago, nerdstrike said: It wouldn't be the first time I'd heard of someone getting a new clutch fitted and it wasn't properly adjusted. I had it done at Fensport as they're 5 mins from me, so I'd trust they had done it properly but won't harm me to pop round there and get them to take a look
