GreenSpring 13 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 Hi! I have my first MOT coming up soon and at the moment I'm completely decat. I was reading that having only the first cat (with a catless front pipe) passes MOT and I was wandering if anybody had any experience for the other way around. If I was to just swap in my stock front pipe for the MOT, will it pass emissions with the catless manifold? Thanks
Mike 458 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 It can, as long as the cat is warmed up 1 GreenSpring reacted to this
Lucas 244 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 Also depends how strict your MOT place is but yeah, definitely make you sure it's warmed up just in case 1 GreenSpring reacted to this

surrey86 352 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 Mine passed with just the front pipe cat when warmed up, it failed on the first attempt. 1 GreenSpring reacted to this
GreenSpring 13 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 Thanks for all the help guys! I'll give it a good spirited drive there and hope they get it tested whilst it's still warmed up!
Paul 442 Report post Posted May 14, 2018 Tell them to do the emissions test as soon as you arrive, so they don't let it cool down. A good MOT place will warm it back up for you with some "spirited" use of the throttle pedal.
