  1. A quick post to share the results of my noise testing on this setup. Thought it might be useful for others. I am planning to replace this exhaust with and HKS unit because it’s too loud for any trackday. As shown from the attached photos (taken in an open area with no echo surfaces etc) using home made (regulation length and angle) test stick and a TFA Soundbee, the reading is 115db. The sound test at Snetterton shew (it’s Norfolk) 111db so it looks like mine differs by roughly 4%. Given the limit at Snetterton is 105db, I definitely have a problem and the drive by test isn’t likely to be any better given hitting the rev limiter results in 121db! So, time for an new exhaust!! Hope this is useful to someone. Cobra sounds great but perhaps you can have too much of a good thing. 😡

I'm taking part in this private track event on the Nordschleife that's limited to 150 cars at the event and seeing as it's the cheapest trackday currently on offer at the Ring this year, I thought I would post it on here to see if anyone else is interested in it. Probably not of interest to those of you who are happy with Touristenfahrten, but for me, being able to drive round in 4 times less traffic than I experienced in August last year, along with other like minded drivers who have all been given a briefing seems appealing. http://circuit-days.co.uk/nurburgring-view-event-60
  5. I've booked on with Javelin for a nice slippy December track day, currently £99 for the full GT circuit which sounds like a bargain. Bedford is a great track for beginners. It's a long lap so doesn't tend to get too congested (apart from right at the start as per usual), and there's only a couple places where it's actually possible to hit anything. You can definitely get a good feel for the car. Let us know if any more want a pre-Christmas winter track fix! http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1428itemid&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1
  6. The Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone is running a session on Saturday 8th October where you can take your own car to drive round their facility for 90 mins, running from 12-2:45pm. Costs £175 so I'm booking it tomorrow. Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is interested! Heres the link: http://www.porsche.com/silverstone/en/experience/psds/open-drive/
  7. Some of you may remember that we joined up with LoT last year to offer some sensible and cheap trackdays to our Premium Members. We're doing the same this year as last year was such a success. This is the third day on the list but i'm posting it before the second... just because I can! Donington has been requested by a few people so hopefully we can have a good day at this one. The only prerequisite to joining up on these trackdays is that you are currently a Premium Member. If you sign up and aren't a Premium Member of the GT86 Drivers Club you will be refunded your money and your booking cancelled. The circuit is one of the truly great circuits in Europe with a mix of fast and slow corners and with one of the most famous sections in the world, the Craner Curves. Not suitable for your first ever track day. Directions & Accommodation: Click Here Length: 1.9 miles Noise limit: 98db driveby at trackside** Format: Open Pit Lane Price: £175 until 1/6 then £199 Instruction: £25 Crash Helmets: £20 2nd Drivers: FREE (must sign on by 16.45 and attend first briefing. Must also be experienced track day driver and complete the sighting laps.) Passengers: FREE ** Noise – please note it is 98db drive by at trackside – there is no static test. You must bring a full driving licence which will be checked at sign on. ANY vehicle without a hard top or fixed roof will require occupants to wear full face helmets. 8. This is the second LoT Trackday we have the pleasure of attending this year. Blyton is a bit of a favourite as not only is it part of the TSS every year, it's also a great technical. but short track for the GT86 & BRZ. On top of that, it's relatively cheap! The only prerequisite to joining up on these trackdays is that you are currently a Premium Member. If you sign up and aren't a Premium Member of the GT86 Drivers Club you will be refunded your money and your booking cancelled. Originally a WW2 airfield Blyton Park was for many years used for the odd grasstrack event, but new owners have breathed new life into the circuit. With new tarmac and plenty of grass and concrete run off Blyton is a deceptively fast and technical circuit, which can challenge experienced drivers, yet also provide a fun and safe first time out experience for novices. 1.6miles long, the track is fairly flat. Maybe the UK’s Abbeville. The day will run in open pit lane format. Directions: click here Length: 1.6 miles Noise limit: 105db static / 95db drive by 20m Format: Open Pit Lane Price: £125 Instruction: £25 Crash Helmets: £20 2nd Drivers: FREE You must bring a full driving licence which will be checked at sign on. Final instructions will be emailed out 3 days before the event In order to book on to this day click the following link: http://goo.gl/x8VJDE
  9. Luckily i've been able to secure us a nice little track here, some of you may remember that we joined up with LoT last year to offer some sensible and cheap trackdays to our Premium Members. We're doing the same this year as last year was such a success. The first day on the list is Anglesey, which is probably going to be favourable for those who are doing the TSS, it may give you a chance to familiarise yourself with parts of the circuit beforehand. The only prerequisite to joining up on these trackdays is that you are currently a Premium Member. If you sign up and aren't a Premium Member of the GT86 Drivers Club you will be refunded your money and your booking cancelled. Day is being run in Open Pit Lane format and suitable for all experience levels. Directions & Accommodation: HERE Length: 2.1 (GP) & 1.55 (coastal) miles Noise limit: 105db static Format: Open Pit Lane Price: £235 Instruction: £25 Crash Helmets: £20 2nd Driver: FREE (must sign on by 8.25am and attend first briefing at 8.30am. Must also be experienced track day driver and complete the sighting laps) You must bring a full driving licence which will be checked at sign on. Final instructions will be emailed out 3 days before the event. To book go to the following link: http://goo.gl/dqovnR

  12. Post all your pic and videos here! What an awesome day it was, and good of Adrian to pop along and offer his advice on our shoddy driving! I will sort my videos out shortly. P.S Keith, I still have your memory card... It recorded fine, do you want it back or can I persuade you with a bottle of wine or two for it?
