  1. Hey everyone, I’m selling my wheels since i’m looking to change things up a bit with the 86. They’re Rota RKR’s in 18x9.5 ET44 with Hankook Ventus V12 tires in 255/35R18. Some remarks/info about the wheels: 1 wheel has some curb rash, no gashes, just rash. And 1 wheel has some dings on 2 spokes because of a lug nut that had broken off. Pictures are below. Front left (dings on the spokes): Rear left (curb rash): Rear right (it has something black on the outer rim, but it's not curb rash, i think it's residue of something, but i'm not sure): Front right (perfectly fine): As for the tires, the fronts are at 6-7mm thread and the rears are at 2mm tops at the camber side and 3-4mm tops at the non-camber side, i've included pictures below. Front tires: Rear tires (note they have been flipped so the camber wear is now towards the outside of the wheels): The wheels are pretty rare, they’re the only set in Europe & UK (except for a Toyota UK demo car that has them in an 8,5 wide spec) and pretty rare in general. The people who know these wheels will know they're hard to come by. If you're interested or have any other questions be sure to let me know. Asking price is €1200, open for offers (i can ship if needed, i'm sure we can work something out). Wheels are located in Belgium. Greetz, Joe

  3. Howdy all, Perks of the new job means I have access to more information for you regarding anything Toyota or Lexus related. The other day, Toyota's Gazoo Racing (GR) division announced a new GR range for some of the cars. https://toyotagazooracing.com/release/2017/other/0919-01.html With 100 of the Yaris GRMN (1.8 litre supercharged Lotus engine, ~210bhp) confirmed coming here, TMC plan to bring the GR series out of Japan so we may see some more development coming to the UK. What do you guys think?
  4. Please can anyone offer any technical advice into this? My brand new GT86 is veering towards the right when it is pointing straight and you're accelerating. My brother-in-law also owns a GT86, and when he drives mine the same thing happens. When you're pulling off or accelerating along the road the car feels as though all the power is going to the back left wheel, and it veers off to the right, so you have to steer left to go forward in a straight line, and when you take your foot off the power it veers back to the left. The tracking has been tested and is perfect, and the tyres have been tested and proved to be faultless. The car is not delivering the power to the road through the wheels in the same way as my previous two GT86 or my brother-in-law's GT86 or the Demo GT86 from the dealer. It accelerates less quickly. On bumpy roads the car feels like something is loose, and has noise and feedback through the steering wheel. I received my car brand new with this issue, and the the Dealer claims this is a normal characteristic of the GT86. Has anyone else experienced this with their GT86? I have never experienced this problem before, with any vehicle I have owned or driven. What can possibly be wrong? I am so confused!

  7. TAROX BBK Review so far

As some of you know I acquired a BBK kit from TAROX late last year for evaluation purposes. A stint of illnesses and other bits and bobs mean't that I got the kit fitted on just before the new year. Now that I've had it on for some time and have a trackday under my belt with them I can provide a well enough review to you all on the brakes and rotors. So the kit they gave me was the 328mm Sport Compact brake kit which consists of the following Red 6 pot TAROX Calipers, discs, pads and hardware to mount to the car. Braided hoses and all the nuts & bolts and boring bits! Packaging was well enough! The box came with a dent in it but nothing was damaged and the whole kit was packed well enough to prevent and scratches or chips to the calipers. Being in one large box it obviously weighed a fair bit! Also came with a complimentary lanyard of course and a small booklet of all their kits. Disc used is their F2000 single piece, obviously many think the grooves are pointless but lets not get in to a debate about them here! Their website states that their Sport Compact kit comes with the B280-6 or B30-6 Calipers usually. However the below suggests otherwise with the B32-6 Calipers instead. The one thing I do need to clarify with TAROX is what pad is used in the kit and I will post that up shortly when I get a response Drawings of the Caliper can be found here: http://en.tarox.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/B32-6.pdf Piston number Disc Ø (min-max) Disc thickness (min-max) Disc Depth Weight Mounting Type Lug offset Minimum internal wheel Ø Lug PCD Knockoff Piston Mounting Centres Piston Layout (Diameter in mm) Total area (both sides) cm² Piston Layout (Diameter in mm) Total area (both sides) cm² Piston Layout (Diameter in mm) Total area (both sides) cm² Pad Code Pad Area Pad Choice Pad Thickness Pad Depth 6 290-330mm 10-30mm 60mm 2.2 kg Lug N/A N/A N/A Optional 89mm 26/31/26 363 26/34/26 394 31/34/31 483 SP0239 80 cm² .114/.501./116/.601 17mm 60mm Daily Driving Usage As a daily driver, I was sceptical about putting a BBK on as I didn't want all brake and nothing else, I didn't want the Girlfriends head flying through the windscreen whenever I approached a set of lights! Safe to say that in these respects the brakes are probably somewhat tamer than the brakes they replaced which were DIXCEL ES Discs & Z Type Pads. The TAROX has a lesser initial bite and seem more progressive, i'm guessing these pads work better with a bit of heat in them (more on that later). The pedal feel however is improved with the braided lines and overall braking performance is definitely not decreased. They stop well in day to day traffic and handle fast road work just fine. Do not squeak which is an advantage. Dusting on the brakes is probably somewhat less than the DIXCEL pads but ultimately this isn't something that i particularly factor in when looking at a kit, if some of you do, they will dust more than stock but I guess lesser than some pads out there. Track Use Hopefully one of many trackdays to test the brakes out I was at brands hatch in January to give them a better test, slightly hampered by both the weather and the black flag I incurred (not through my poor driving I might add) but never the less a good day. As suspected the lesser initial bite was seemingly due to the pads working once they had a bit of heat in them. Probably more for the track biased then, but by no means a death trap on the road. It's worth noting i'm not 100% sure what pad it is. I shall find out for all though. They stopped well enough, it's all I can really say as they didn't particularly feel any better than my old discs and pads as the ABS would just kick in as it was an extremely wet and greasy track. I need to pencil myself in for a dry day clearly to compare properly. Brake fade was non existent, it wasn't on my previous discs and pads either but what I can say is they are an improvement over stock. I'll give them another test in May and see how they do for now though, overall i'm happy with the performance of the kit and would recommend it, it's not the cheapest of BBK out there, but it's certainly not the most expensive.

Hello, my names Alex! I bought my first GT86 last month after falling in love with it at a company-sponsored track day at Prescott Hill Climb (I work for Listers Toyota in Cheltenham). I loved it so much that when the opportunity arose to purchase the last remaining unregistered Blanco I didn't give it a second thought. This is my first evening with her; 25 miles on the clock and counting! She'll be exhibited at the Chateau Impney Hill Climb this weekend in Droitwich, if you're in the area head down and say hello! I look forward to getting involved in future drivers club events.

  21. Some of you may remember that we joined up with LoT last year to offer some sensible and cheap trackdays to our Premium Members. We're doing the same this year as last year was such a success. This is the third day on the list but i'm posting it before the second... just because I can! Donington has been requested by a few people so hopefully we can have a good day at this one. The only prerequisite to joining up on these trackdays is that you are currently a Premium Member. If you sign up and aren't a Premium Member of the GT86 Drivers Club you will be refunded your money and your booking cancelled. The circuit is one of the truly great circuits in Europe with a mix of fast and slow corners and with one of the most famous sections in the world, the Craner Curves. Not suitable for your first ever track day. Directions & Accommodation: Click Here Length: 1.9 miles Noise limit: 98db driveby at trackside** Format: Open Pit Lane Price: £175 until 1/6 then £199 Instruction: £25 Crash Helmets: £20 2nd Drivers: FREE (must sign on by 16.45 and attend first briefing. Must also be experienced track day driver and complete the sighting laps.) Passengers: FREE ** Noise – please note it is 98db drive by at trackside – there is no static test. You must bring a full driving licence which will be checked at sign on. ANY vehicle without a hard top or fixed roof will require occupants to wear full face helmets. Final instructions will be emailed out 3 days before the event. To book go to the following link: http://goo.gl/i90CfE
  22. This is the second LoT Trackday we have the pleasure of attending this year. Blyton is a bit of a favourite as not only is it part of the TSS every year, it's also a great technical. but short track for the GT86 & BRZ. On top of that, it's relatively cheap! The only prerequisite to joining up on these trackdays is that you are currently a Premium Member. If you sign up and aren't a Premium Member of the GT86 Drivers Club you will be refunded your money and your booking cancelled. Originally a WW2 airfield Blyton Park was for many years used for the odd grasstrack event, but new owners have breathed new life into the circuit. With new tarmac and plenty of grass and concrete run off Blyton is a deceptively fast and technical circuit, which can challenge experienced drivers, yet also provide a fun and safe first time out experience for novices. 1.6miles long, the track is fairly flat. Maybe the UK’s Abbeville. The day will run in open pit lane format. 23. Luckily i've been able to secure us a nice little track here, some of you may remember that we joined up with LoT last year to offer some sensible and cheap trackdays to our Premium Members. We're doing the same this year as last year was such a success. The first day on the list is Anglesey, which is probably going to be favourable for those who are doing the TSS, it may give you a chance to familiarise yourself with parts of the circuit beforehand. The only prerequisite to joining up on these trackdays is that you are currently a Premium Member. If you sign up and aren't a Premium Member of the GT86 Drivers Club you will be refunded your money and your booking cancelled. Day is being run in Open Pit Lane format and suitable for all experience levels.
