It will more likely be big and comfy , but fitted with Sports Suspension so as can still do a few more Trackdays during the year

With this lockdown, it's not easy to sort out Test Drives at the moment!!

This was only sprung on me the other day, when I was told Dad's giving up driving

Oh Nigel, I am shocked it's not a Japanese car. Guess the GR Yaris wasn't an option as no auto? Or are you going big and comfy?

Thanks Lauren, I wasn't sure where to put the post as it's not going anywhere in December so can have my last lot of fun on the track with this wonderful car

Replacement car undecided at the moment, but it's unlikely to be Japanese Car this time

Whatever car I buy, it has to replace the GT86 and C200k

You must have liked the 86, you kept it for quite a while! May your next car be as good.

Good luck. As I'm finding now, the market is slow (not surprising given the economic climate TBH).

Good luck Nigel, it has done you well. I've moved it to car for sales as it's a sales post. What are you going for next?

This post is just a heads up for now boys and girls 👍
My 2013/13 Toyota GT86 Auto will be coming up for Sale in the Near Year and replaced with a Brand New Car 😛
Will offer the car as a Private Sale on here first, but failing all that then the car will be Part Exchanged instead!
As I still have quite a few of the original parts, they will of course be put back on the car and therefore will have a few parts for Sale in due course 👍
Some parts will be retained and put onto the New Car, but meanwhile here's a link to my Build Thread via the RX-8OC : https://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=52793
Am willing to do a deal with a Member on here in swapping out my Custom Built Exhaust System for a Standard System from their car and a friend of mine would do this at his house or place of work 👍
Will let you all know when the New Car is on order and the Private Plates are on their way off the car, so as the original number plates can be put back on the car 😛
    That's it for now.................................
    Nigel

I feel happy enough now to not worry about a test drive before I pick it up.

Test Drives Unlimited reacted to Lauren in Recall issued on cars to have valve springs replaced 2012-2013
@Lloyd There were a high number of failures in the US. TGB along with help from RRG Macc heavily revised the recall procedures to prevent what happened in the US happening here. Up you but if you purposefully leave it and it does fail then you will not be covered. Mine was done 27,000 miles ago. No problems.

Car has landed in Portbury. Have spoken to finance, should be okay for click and collect on the 18th or thereabouts. Exciting stuff, though made a bit weird by the lockdown bobbins!

Test Drives Unlimited reacted to 303 in Any reasonable solution to battery drain?
Ended up taking it back to the main dealer that did the warranty work incl. the 60ah battery replacement a few years back. After explaining the issue and asking if they had anything beefier "can you fit a Hilux battery in there?"   they found a 65a Toyota battery (£85) and offered to fit and test the alternator gratis (all good), while I waited which was more convenient than doing it myself and having to book a slot at the local tip to dispose of the old one. Not 100% sure but it sounded as if the 65a is now standard replacement; so stock 40a, uprated to 60a, and now uprated to 65a.
My Covid usage sounds identical to @GravelRash  but outcome more similar to @NJay 's last comment.
Trickle charge would be the obvious solution, but not practical where I live, so I've bought a solar panel to keep the power greedy little sh@t topped up when not in use. It's been making me nostalgic for my GT-Four - four months travelling, left on the drive, started first time.
    Thanks for the help!

This is because they discounted the first 1000 by 10K AUS dollars! I wish they'd done that here!

I received a notification on Friday night telling me my car is being built!
I'm just a little bit excited.
In other news, got an email from RRG telling me they will have a demo car in for the beginning of November, so I will be first behind the wheel. I really hope it's as good as it looks!

They are Prospect R-Spec Step Range Gauges, I think

Block8Head Pod for 3x 60mm Gauges, but they also sell sizes for 52mm Gauges, along with 1x and 2x Gauge Pod Units

The 60mm Gauges were between £65 to £85 each, although they were slightly cheaper because I used the RX-8OC Discount Code that we have

    The Block8Head was £113.00 I think

The Passenger Side Pod Unit was £200.00 from Fensport

The whole lot came to something in the region of £800.00 including all the Sensors and Sandwich Plates fitted, but you do get what you pay for at the end of the day

I find this all incredibly useful on trackdays

It's probably not clipped in properly. Mine wasn't at first. Once they're in place properly they don't move at all.

What's with getting used to mirrors? I linked where you can buy auto-fold module already? BTW, main reason for me to buy that module was to have extra visual cue that car is locked, as mine doesn't beep when locking, just flashing turn signals, easy to miss quiet locks turn sound in loud & bright daylight environment.

Fitted the third brake light lowering kit. It was all fairly straightforward - probably the trickiest bits are removing and refitting the parcel shelf itself. Looks more OEM than OEM imho.
