  1. No worries, the change in brake disc size also has an influence. I don't know if the 4% calc included that as well. If it genuinely is only 4% I wouldn't worry about that, but I'd confirm its 4% first, I don't normally trust numbers off the internet unless I can see they've been calculated properly. I've not checked the maths in that NASIOC spreadsheet, but it looks like its been done by someone who knows what they're doing.
  2. It was NASIOC not FT86.... https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=928642&highlight=brake+calculator Not all the info you need, but a good start.
  3. Are you just changing the fronts? If you can measure the diameters of the pistons and the diameter of the discs then its a quick spreadsheet calc to work out the brake bias difference. IIRC its been done already somewhere on the FT86 forum. Some people will be able to tell the difference, others won't notice 4%. One word of caution with mixing pad compounds is that their coefficient of friction vs temperature will be different so you'll get different bias as they warm up, and how much braking the front and rear axles are doing directly affects how much more heat energy goes in to the front or rear brakes. That said the same is true with the same pads front and rear to a lesser degree.
  4. In road driving the extra torque at the wheels when pulling away from junctions can be useful. Track wise I've found that typically I'm a gear higher than cars with the std FD in most corners, less across the gate downshifts to second is a bonus but otherwise there isn't much in it. I imagine there'd be a small advantage on some sprints pulling away from the line, but that depends on how far it is to the first braking point and whether you'll have to make an extra shift with the shorter ratios. If I had my time again I would spend my money elsewhere, but don't regret it as I've learnt plenty from doing it.

Glad you managed to find a size that worked. If you ever have to do them again, lube em up with washing up liquid.

Welcome to the club. I'm the regional organiser for MK and the surrounding area, our last attempt at a meet was snowed off, but I'll be organising another one soon, hope to see you there :-)

It's worth having a look to see if you can get rubber gaiters for the sphericals. I know they're available for common rod end sizes, not looked for these larger sphericals. The LCAs do look like a nice bit of kit :-)

    I'm in. 75 mins please.
  9. Think I'm gonna call this one off now, the snow round here is pretty bad and even though the forecast is to be warmer tomorrow there are warnings of rain turning to ice when it hits the frozen ground, not worth anyone pranging their car for a nice meal when we can rearrange for another time.
  10. I'm going to phone them tonight to let them know it might be cancelled due to snow. I have friends who live 2miles away so will get an update from them on Sat AM.

At Snetterton Weds which has a higher limit so hopefully I'll be able to rev out fully everywhere there, will let you know.

You have a very similar setup to mine now. I got warned for being close to the limit last time I was at Bedford, started short shifting by the noise meters after that and was fine for the rest of the day.
  13. Maybe we should call it "Luncher" or "Linner"?!
  14. Like it was meant to be :-) Great, yes aiming for 2.30pm arrival.
  15. @Falix @TTR @Ivesy722 @SimonB95 @James@Amber @will300 @HariboPenguin @Mikey P @Sighe98 @CHOSENMAN007 @Minion @GreenSpring I phoned to book this morning and the earliest they could fit us all in was 3pm, I've booked the table for then but if that means you now cannot make it as its too late please let me know so I can amend the booking.
